Gao Lin's one goal and one assist helped Shenzhen beat his former club Guangzhou, while Shandong hammered Henan 2-0 in the Chinese Super League.
GUANGZHOU, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Gao Lin contributed one goal and one assist to help Shenzhen FC beat Guangzhou FC 2-1, while Shandong Taishan won over Henan Songshanlongmen 2-0 in the 10th round of the Chinese Super League (CSL) here on Friday.
The 35-year-old Gao engaged in all three goals of the match against his former club. In the 41st minute, his headed pass helped Zheng Dalun score an open header. Five minutes later, Guangzhou FC striker Ai Kesen converted a penalty shot to tie the match 1-1 after Gao committed a reckless foul in the penalty area.
In the 47th minute, Gao scored a header from a corner delivered by Juan Quintero as Shenzhen retook the lead 2-1. Luo Guofu had a goal-scoring opportunity for Guangzhou in the 75th minute when he missed the open goal after his shot flew over the crossbar.
Elsewhere, Shandong scored the opener in the 39th minute as Marouane Fellaini beat two defenders and curled the ball into the far corner. The former Belgium international then missed a penalty kick in the stoppage time of the first half and couldn't double the lead for his side.
In the 58th minute, Guo Tianyu headed home a precise right cross from Liu Binbin to help Shandong seal the 2-0 victory.
In other games on Friday, Guangzhou City thrashed Qingdao FC 4-2 to get the first win in seven rounds, Cangzhou Mighty Lions tied with Chongqing Liangjiang Athletic 1-1. Shandong Taishan and Shenzhen FC now both have 21 points to lead in the group A table.
