Sporting Kansas City bolstered its back line Friday, announcing the addition of Logan Ndenbe.
The 21-year-old Belgian youth international left back comes to Sporting KC via transfer from Guingamp, a club in France's second professional division.
Sporting KC has signed Ndenbe to a three-year contract with an option for 2025. He'll occupy one of the club's international roster spots.
Despite his youth, Ndenbe has been a professional soccer player for five years. Since 2017, he's logged nearly 50 appearances with pro clubs in Europe, playing for teams in France and Belgium. Ndenbe came up in the academy of K.V. Oostende, a club based in the city of Ostend, West Flanders in Belgium.
Ndenbe has also represented Belgium on the international stage, logging 16 caps for its youth national teams on the U-17, U-18 and U-21 levels. Last June, he played in five qualifying matches for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
Sporting KC went 17-10-7 last season, finishing third in the Western Conference with 58 points in what was the 13th season at the helm for coach Peter Vermes.
Ndenbe is the third newcomer to Sporting KC this offseason, joining fellow left back Ben Sweat and midfielder Uri Rosell as the latest additions. On Thursday, the club announced that veterans Graham Zusi and Roger Espinoza would also return this season.
Sporting KC will face Atlanta United FC in its season-opener on Feb. 27.
